Curiousty Corner The Hotel Orient was originally opened as the Excelsior Hotel in 1875, and underwent an extension in 1884. Joining the state heritage list in 1999, Hotel Orient is one of the last surviving 19th Century hotels in central Brisbane. The hotel retains its 1870s-80s footprint, streetscape presence, unmistakable triangular frontage, and heritage features.
